A leading RV supplier is looking to hire an Assistant Product Manager to be located out their Elkhart, IN or Louisville, KY location.
Under minimum supervision and together with the Product Manager, develops new product specifications and tracks new product development. Works closely with a cross:functional team to support the launch of new products or re:launch existing products and supports assigned product lines. Support the product manager with all phases of the product lifestyle from concept to retail shelf. Maintains balance of 40 focus in new products / 60 existing products.
Duties:
* Responsible for tracking of all packaging, user manuals, and product collateral materials to support with the creation, development and implementation of the product portfolio from concept to consumer
* Works collaboratively with marketing, forecasting, engineering and planning to assure timely completion of product launch
* Coordinate with engineering and suppliers on technical specifications for item set:up requirements provided by various customers
* Create and maintain a standardized comprehensive competitive database including complete product offerings, specifications, features, benefits, programs and price
* Completes other duties as assigned by supervisor
Qualifications:
* Bachelors degree in Marketing, Engineering, Business or Technical Equivalent
* At least 3 years of related experience
* Mechanical aptitude highly desirable
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office software
* Assignments require good working knowledge of management principles learned
* through experience and/or specific training or a substantial understanding of scientific principles to interpret, modify or develop standards
* Knowledge of program management tools and procedures
* General knowledge of operations, including scheduling, purchasing, manufacturing, engineering and quality systems
* Analytical skills. Ability to understand, track, drill:down, and question activities and issues in all functional areas and make sound business decision based upon that data
* Negotiation, influence:management, leadership, and assertiveness skills
* Attention to detail and follow:through skills
